FAQs

General Studio FAQs

Do I need dance experience to do barre?

No, even an absolute beginner without a single dance class under their belt can try Barre. There are plenty of modifications for everyone.

What should I wear to class?

Wear something comfortable that you can move in. Grippy socks are a MUST they will help you to maintain the positions throughout class, and they are also more hygienic for you and other clients.

Do I need to bring anything with me?

Water bottle/drink which can be refilled in studio. We provide sweat towels, but in case we have run out and you know you like to have your own we recommend bringing one, especially in the hotter months.

Can beginners join, or is it only for advanced clients?

Beginners of course are in safe expert hands and welcome. Classes like the Barre Classic or Shaken & Stirred, Pilates Classic and Barre Flow are a great place to start.

What makes Barre different from Pilates, Yoga, or the Gym?

Barre uses more isometric holds, higher reps and builds lactic threshold endurance. So you see results quickly, work deeper into the eccentric part of the movements. Taking the intelligence of physio therapy, Pilates and ramping it up to create a stronger strength and conditioning class, that causes progressive overload with props, range of motion, and deeper and longer holds, so YOU see and feel actual results.
